Michael Durrant
Hi,
My name is Michael Durrant and currently I'm working as a Technical Writer in sunny Manchester in the UK. Finished my MA in Medieval and Early Modern Literature last September and start my PhD in September 2008. My current research has brought me into contact with publishing history, especially within the realms of religio-social propaganda and reform.
I have a great interest in film, especially International film and its impact upon the landscape of western cinema. I enjoy reviewing bars, new gallerys and clubs, restaurants and cultural events in and around Manchester. I have written reviews ranging from an analysis of Michael Haneke to what makes a great sunday lunch in Manchester!
My current employment means that I am constantly writing manuals and help guides for schools, hospitals, council chambers through to an arctic research centre in Cambridge. My spare time is taken up with research, freelance and short story writing. I have published reviews in city guides and music catalogues and I am currently working on a short artical for a visual arts mag based in London.
